This reflection originates through observance of Christianity practiced quietly. In the church my wife and I attend 'getting together' during the week rates as a high priority for the congregation. Sharing life with an assurance of confidentiality created strong bonds within these groups. Our group decided to stimulate this with a group only chat. This decision created communication pathways to make it easier to keep in touch in addition to our weekly get together, keep our group in touch even when we cant make those meetings and cover those break times from the weekly meetings. One strong impact: sharing prayer requests. Christian prayer touches on personal situations, the situations of others we know and also situations of people most or all of the group don't no.
The purpose for throwing light into this activity hopefully illustrates by example how the Christian faith roots believers in the human condition. We support each other, not necessarily in the blessings we may ask for or receive through the grace of the God we put our trust in. We also desire to offer support to others in their critical hours of need.
First, we talk directly to God. Through this communication pathways we can share that with this group of trusted friends. Names are not necessary or needed to write this commentary. Hopefully it will cast light on true Christian actions. The reader will decide the impact on their heart.
A member of our group wrote this. There are 13 people in our group of couples and singles. most of us did not know this person needing prayer.
I lift up the sister of my dear friend to you today. Her name is - - - -. She is walking through a heavy trial. The toll of her chemotherapy treatments has left her so exhausted and weary. Please wrap your loving arms around her and be her refuge. When her body feels weak, be her strength. Please guide the hands of her medical team as they treat her - - - - - cancer. Give them wisdom to effectively manage her symptoms and and side effects.
Please wrap your loving arms around her and bring comfort to her weary body. We asked that you restore her physical strength and protect her fragile veins. The doctors are having a tough time with her worn out veins to draw blood. Calm her breathing as she has also coughed up a blood clot. We pray for wisdom for the medical team as they assess these new issues - - - - has been facing. Let them be proactive to resolve these issues.
Lord, we ask for your covering over - - - - . Be with her. Guard her heart as she meets today with her doctor. We thank you Lord that her husband - - - - remains firm and steady as he stands by her side, helping and meeting her needs. Lord, when - - - -'s spirit is tired and her burden feels to heavy to carry, remind her always that she is safely held in YOUR hands. Grant her the grace and the faith to fully trust
your perfect plan for rest. We ask all this in your precious name Jesus.
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you.
When this posts on our chat group, some of us come alongside these prayers as we are moved to do.
Later that day.....we are updated of the oncologists actions to decrease medications to help reduce fatigue and take a break from drawing blood from her tired veins. - - - - says she is hopeful for these steps to strengthen her and maybe gain some weight. She praises Jesus for being with her.
This is Christian hearts and souls in action through the uncompromising grace of God. We do not control outcomes but we can be a significant positive force. Godly community provides tangible blessings only available through our complete trust is Jesus and Father God.
